straight up..

I'm Joe Pyle, a wedding and portrait photograph designer working in the hipster | trendy | active | tattooed Iowa City, Iowa area. I started making pictures in 2010 for real and my work has gotten some traction in the last year or so by creating images  for some amazing people. My inspiration comes from growing up in the country (twenty-something in my high school  graduating class) and moving to a crazy, awesome city. I feel like I'm twenty-five again learning how to be a true person in an amazing, wild, diverse culture so different from my childhood.    

I prefer to use natural light in my pictures when possible, but also know that if you are wanting to add drama to a picture, you can blow the average mind with flash. I also prefer to catch moments that are just before and after the "posed" shot. Those are the best cuz they will get the real you in the picture.

That's what I want to catch, the real you, or both of you, or all of you. That's the important part.

To sum this up, what I do is create | design portrait style photographs with my cameras. That may take the form of an engagement session, a business portrait, a family, or a wedding.
